The non-marine ostracod fauna from pools of Mount Carmel (Israel) is described. Fourteen species were identified, and 4 of these were found for the first time in Israel: Ilyocypris divisa Klie, Heterocypris bosniaca Petkovski et al., Eucypris cf. inflata Sars, and Psychrodromus olivaceus (Brady and Norman). Taxonomic notes on several rare species are given and a subjective list of synonymies of the circum-Mediterranean species of Heterocypris is discussed. A sexual population of Ilyocypris inermis is reported on here for the first time.
