Abstract: The advertisement call of the Caucasian parsley frog, Pelodytes caucasicus, from the northern Black Sea region in Turkey, is described for the first time using quantitative temporal and spectral analyses. The call is composed of three notes, categorized according to duration and amplitude. The three notes typically occur in a fixed sequence. The first two notes are distinguished by their longer duration and amplitude. The last note is a pulse-train, with regular intervals, shorter in duration and lower in amplitude at the beginning and end. The composition of the advertisement call of P. caucasicus is specific to this species and differs from those of the closely related species P. punctatus and P. ibericus.
